Nell’ultimo round al Paul Ricard, una serie di problemi tecnici ha pesantemente penalizzato il fine settimana del pilota comasco, impedendogli di raccogliere i punti che meritava. Resta però la certezza di una grandissima velocità pura: ogni volta che la vettura è stata al 100%, Marco si è confermato tra i più rapidi in pista. Proprio da questa consapevolezza nasce la voglia di riscatto per la tappa ungherese. However, his undisputed raw speed remains a major takeaway: whenever his car was at 100%, Marco consistently proved to be among the absolute fastest on the grid. It is precisely this awareness that fuels his drive for redemption in Hungary. The Hungaroring, a tight and twisty track where overtaking is notoriously difficult, will put a premium on driving precision and flawless team setup work.

Marco Butti: «I’m arriving in Hungary incredibly fired up. At Paul Ricard, we definitely had the pace to fight at the front, but bad luck got in our way. Now, we reset. Feeling with the CUPRA and Ambitions for Spa After collecting valuable points in the opening round, Butti has worked closely with the Spanish team’s engineers to fine-tune the setup of his CUPRA. 

Spa-Francorchamps represents a crucial litmus test: a fast, technical, and often unpredictable circuit due to its microclimate, where Marco has previously proven
his prowess (notably with a stunning victory here in 2025).

Il primo appuntamento della stagione 2026 del TCR Europe, disputato il 21 e 22 marzo all’Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, ha visto Marco Butti affrontare un fine settimana intenso e combattuto davanti al pubblico di casa.

Il pilota comasco, al volante della CUPRA León VZ TCR del team Monlau Motorsport, ha ottenuto il settimo tempo in qualifica, dimostrando fin da subito un buon potenziale sul tracciato toscano.

In Gara 1, Butti è stato protagonista di una rimonta significativa. Dopo essere stato coinvolto in un contatto alla partenza che lo ha relegato nelle ultime posizioni, è riuscito a recuperare terreno grazie a un ottimo ritmo gara, chiudendo in decima posizione e conquistando punti preziosi.

In Gara 2, Marco ha confermato la competitività mostrata durante il weekend, concludendo al settimo posto al termine di una corsa solida e combattuta.

Grazie ai risultati ottenuti al Mugello, Butti lascia il primo round della stagione occupando l’ottava posizione nella classifica Piloti.

Marco Butti scores valuable points in the opening TCR Europe round at Mugello

The opening round of the 2026 TCR Europe season, held on March 21–22 at the Mugello International Circuit, saw Marco Butti tackle a demanding and competitive weekend in front of his home crowd.

The driver from Como, racing the CUPRA León VZ TCR with Monlau Motorsport, showed strong pace from the start, securing seventh place in qualifying.

In Race 1, Butti delivered an impressive recovery drive. After being involved in contact at the start that dropped him to the back of the field, he fought his way through the pack with excellent race pace to finish in tenth position, collecting valuable championship points.

In Race 2, Marco confirmed his competitiveness by securing a solid seventh-place finish after a consistent and hard-fought race.

With these results, Butti leaves Mugello in eighth position in the Drivers’ Championship standings, keeping his goals firmly in sight for the remainder of the season.

The 2026 TCR Europe season gets underway on March 21–22 at the Mugello Circuit, marking the start of a new
campaign for Marco Butti, who approaches this challenge with high expectations and the added motivation of
racing on home soil in Italy.
The Como-born driver, who has established himself as one of the leading contenders in the championship, heads
into the season opener aiming to fight for the title from the very first round. Following a strong pre-season
alongside Monlau Motorsport, Butti willlook to capitalize on his experience within the series and be a front-runner
from the very first on-track session.
Together with Monlau Motorsport, the reigning Drivers’ and Teams’ champions, Marco will be part of a three-car
line-up and will compete at the wheel of a CUPRA León VZ TCR.

Dopo la pausa estiva, Marco Butti è tornato in pista lo scorso fine settimana per il penultimo appuntamento del TCR Europe 2025, disputato sul veloce tracciato del Red Bull Ring in Austria. Un round speciale per il giovane pilota italiano, che affrontava per la prima volta questo circuito.

Il weekend è iniziato con un’ottima qualifica, dove Butti ha conquistato la terza posizione sulla griglia. In Gara 1, Marco ha confermato il suo passo competitivo tagliando il traguardo al terzo posto e salendo subito sul podio.

La domenica ha regalato ancora più emozioni: scattato dall’ottava casella, Marco ha messo in scena una grande rimonta che lo ha portato fino alla seconda posizione, centrando così il suo secondo podio del weekend.

Con i punti raccolti in Austria, Butti compie un importante salto in classifica generale e si porta al comando del campionato, a pari merito con Eric Gené.

Double podium for Marco Butti at the Red Bull Ring: now leading the TCR Europe

After the summer break, Marco Butti returned to action last weekend for the penultimate round of the 2025 TCR Europe, held at the fast and challenging Red Bull Ring in Austria. It was a special round for the young Italian driver, who was racing on this circuit for the first time.

The weekend started with a strong qualifying performance, as Butti secured third place on the grid. In Race 1, Marco confirmed his competitive pace by crossing the finish line in third position, immediately stepping onto the podium.

Sunday brought even more excitement: starting from eighth on the grid, Marco staged a brilliant recovery drive that took him all the way up to second place, securing his second podium of the weekend.

Thanks to the points collected in Austria, Butti made a decisive leap in the overall standings and now sits at the top of the championship, tied with Eric Gené.
