Lo scorso fine settimana Marco Butti ha disputato la terza e ultima tappa europea del TCR World Tour sullo spettacolare e impegnativo circuito cittadino di Vila Real, in Portogallo. Al volante della Honda Civic Type R del team GOAT Racing, il giovane pilota italiano ha concluso un weekend di gara molto intenso, che ha rappresentato anche la sua quinta settimana consecutiva di attività in pista.
Dopo aver ottenuto l’undicesimo tempo in qualifica, Marco ha tagliato il traguardo in P13 in Gara 1 e in P15 in Gara 2, su un tracciato che premia l’esperienza e la precisione e che per lui era completamente nuovo.
«Non è stato il weekend che ci aspettavamo, forse non lo abbiamo chiuso come avremmo voluto, dopo tante settimane consecutive di competizioni. Ma voglio ringraziare di cuore la famiglia Fernández per la fiducia che ha riposto in me permettendomi di disputare per intero la tappa europea del TCR World Tour insieme al GOAT Racing. È stata comunque una grande esperienza su un circuito così speciale e impegnativo come Vila Real,» ha dichiarato Marco dopo la gara.
«Adesso è il momento di riposare, ricaricare le energie e prepararsi al meglio per il finale del campionato europeo. Grazie a tutti coloro che mi sostengono sempre, e in particolare ai miei sponsor, che hanno creduto nel mio progetto sportivo quando sono tornato nel Mondiale Turismo.»
Il prossimo appuntamento di Marco Butti sarà nel primo fine settimana di settembre, quando tornerà in pista in Austria per proseguire la stagione nel campionato europeo TCR.
Marco Butti closes the European leg of the TCR World Tour in Vila Real
Last weekend Marco Butti took part in the third and final European round of the TCR World Tour on the spectacular and demanding street circuit of Vila Real, Portugal. Driving the Honda Civic Type R of the GOAT Racing team, the young Italian completed a very intense race weekend, which also marked his fifth consecutive week of racing.
After qualifying in eleventh place, Marco finished P13 in Race 1 and P15 in Race 2, on a track that rewards experience and precision — and where he was racing for the very first time.
«It wasn’t the weekend we were hoping for, and perhaps we didn’t finish it the way we wanted after so many weeks of back-to-back racing. But I want to sincerely thank the Fernández family for trusting me and giving me the chance to contest the full European stage of the TCR World Tour with GOAT Racing. It was still a great experience on such a unique and challenging circuit like Vila Real,» said Marco after the race.
«Now it’s time to rest, recharge and get ready for the final stretch of the European championship. Thanks to everyone who always supports me, and especially to my sponsors, who believed in my sporting project when I returned to the World Touring Car scene.»
Marco Butti’s next race will take place on the first weekend of September, when he returns to the track in Austria to continue his TCR European Championship season.
