ABOUT ME
Marco was born on March 29, 2005, in Como. From a very young age, he developed a passion for cars and motorsports in general.
His first kart was gifted to him at the tender age of 5 by his father (Fabio Butti), who is also the owner of the family dealership Butticars and several rally and non-rally teams.
From that day on, his career in the world of karting began, competing in various regional, national, and international championships, even managing to win some titles and achieving excellent results at all levels.
At the end of the 2019 season, he made the leap to race cars, completing test days aboard an F4 at the Valencia circuit, where he also achieved impressive results.
In 2020, he transitioned to closed-wheel racing, driving a Clio RS Cup, and in 2021 he debuted in touring car racing (TCR), participating in three championships (TCR Italy, Coppa Italia Turismo, and TCR Europe Endurance). He achieved outstanding results and finished in the overall Top 3 in all of them before embarking on a new experience in the rally world at the end of the season. There, he competed in the Monza Special Rally Circuit with an R5 car, taking first place overall — and in all categories — on his debut in the discipline at just 16 years old.
In 2022, a new adventure began that saw him involved in the GT3 world, joining Team Audi Sport Italia in the Italian GT Championship and a European series to further expand his technical knowledge and experience. In March, he won the 6th Motor Rally Show in Pavia, dominating all the stages and continuing the record-breaking streak he began in December.
In 2023, he was selected for the Hyundai Motorsport Junior Program, supported by Gabriele Tarquini as his coach. He competed in TCR Italy with Target Competition, behind the wheel of the Hyundai Elantra N TCR, where he delivered high-level performances that placed him in the fight for the title. He won Race 1 in Imola in April and repeated the feat in October, claiming both wins over the weekend once again at the Romagna circuit. He finished third in the championship and first in the Under-25 category, earning the most Pole Positions and Wins of the season. He also took part in two rounds of the TCR World Tour, in Vallelunga and Macau, where he showcased his immense potential with lap times equal to or better than those of the international series’ top drivers.
In addition to his commitment with Target Competition, he competed in two races of the Italian GT Championship. In Pergusa, in the Endurance category, he finished fifth, while in Monza, in the Sprint Championship round, he secured second place overall in both Race 1 and Race 2.
In December, he took part in two rallies with the Hyundai i20 Rally2 from the Friulmotor team. In Monza, the final round of the Italian Absolute Rally Championship, alongside the decorated co-driver Flavio Zanella, he was forced to retire due to a technical issue after setting excellent times that had seen him climb the overall standings. At the Pavia Rally Circuit, he dominated the event, adding another success to his growing list of achievements.
